I wish. Not a big fan of quiting a job where we were #1 and then being fired in 3 months.

What the hell! Is there anything we can do? Was there a reason given for this?

hmmm, somehow that doesn't seem appropriate. The first time it happens is one thing but the second time it occurs doesn't make any sense. Well, one thing we will do, which isn't the only thing possible, will be to pray for both of you in getting new jobs.

#1, Do nothing, especially if Chris and Dale want it that way.
#2, Boycott Crawford...people that haven't called, call in and talk about nothing but them getting fired, etc. This of course may or may not affect the other hosts negatively, so that is a consideration.
Unless there is a really damn good reason for this, Crawford is going to continue to do this sort of thing.
I'm just venting....so take it with a grain of salt.

I don't understand this. I've only heard the guys on and off, but they've always seemed to be very entertaining and well-deserving of the morning slot.
I hope we're not left hanging in the wind as to the reason. This makes no sense whatsoever.

Radio is a business, that is why. They obviously were not getting what they wanted from us, so they let us go. Is three months enough to know that? I don't think so, but that is what it is about. Feel free to call, that is the way the system works, let them know your displeasure if you are upset. Complaints work, this is a prime example.

Thanks, guys, for the support, but I guess we all saw this coming. The bible belt can't handle an Attack Machine. No need to boycott or call and complain. What's done is done. Don't take it out on whoever replaces us...it isn't their fault.
It was fun while it lasted.

I've found that letters mean more to people than emails or phone calls. It shows that someone sat down and took the time to write a letter and then take it to the mailbox.
I'm gonna write a letter to Steve Armstrong expressing my disappointment unless I should direct it elsewhere.

Chris,
Don't see how you guys pushed the envelope any more than the other hosts...you didn't really have time. You guys were different, that's for sure, but I don't see how the Bible Belt atmosphere would bypass others and only hit you two. Don't know what else to say..shocked about sums it up.

Thanks, guys, for the support, but I guess we all saw this coming. The bible belt can't handle an Attack Machine. I don't even see how that can be a reason. There are indeed a lot of conservative prudes around here, but you guys were never that edgy in my opinion, not even for a Christian-type radio station. You guys never said anything even closely resembling the things I've heard go down on other stations.

I know there is a lot of "movement" in stations around here...
Chris...I don't think this is a "can't do it in Bible belt" issue in the market area, but maybe on that station...
I hope y'all can (if you want to) stay in Birmingham...

"Complaints work, this is a prime example."
Read past that....I see. Like I said, any complaints that were filed had to be done with one closed eye.

this is total BS.....3 months is nowhere near enough time and how does crawford call himself a "Christian" then have people move from florida, do a GOOD job, then fire them after only 3 months?
i disagree that the media is an independent business any longer.....the media gets told by government what to do behind the scenes.
the media was free in this country long ago, just like us NONE of us are free anymore and the clock is ticking, ALL will see sooner than we know what is really going on.

Here is what I know most of the e-mails that we saw, consisted of "not Christian enough" or "not Christian enough for a God and Country station."
Billt - this is not a government issue, no one told them what to do. In my opinion they pulled the trigger to quick for other reason, no government role here. This was a private business decision.

I know man. To ask someone to pick up all their stuff and move for a job and then get canked is a raw deal indeed.

Here is what I know most of the e-mails that we saw, consisted of "not Christian enough" or "not good for a God and Country station." I know I've said some things I later regretted about you guys, but I think that you both are very "God and Country." The careers you've chosen proves the fact that you're, at the least, very concerned about your country.

dale and chris, MOST ALL of those "Christians" that wrote are gonna be shocked to find out where they spend eternity......GOD GAVE MAN FREE WILL.....those that complained on that basis are in DIRECT OPPOSITION TO GOD'S desires.
the most "devout" are just like the taliban, NOTHING about an eternal relationship with God, ALL ABOUT telling other people how to live.

Well, if you were let go due to being "not Christian enough" or "not good for a God and Country station", then as a Christian, that embarrasses me. From what I have heard from you two on the radio, the last 3 months...it isn't valid. I could see if it was Howard Stern coming here...but this.....
Whomever the complaints came from...they must have been very vocal, constant and very petty.

dale if the governor or legislators told crawford they dont like a particular show do you think crawford is going to tell those fired where the compaints came from?
plausable deniability, and when told you will lose business if they stay on the air, indeed a "business" decision is made at that time.

Could very well be....probably a combination of factors...none of them righteous from an outside perspective.

It is no secret that the company wants to keep more Christian-friendly (oriented?) shows such as Burt and Kurt. So, in comparison, we did "push the envelope."
What hurts the most is knowing that most of the complaints were outright falsehoods, many of which told of "swear words" we'd say on the air. They even payed someone to sit and listen to our show each day in search of these "swear words." Naturally, they came up empty, but for some reason the complaints kept rolling in.
And I was personally warned by many (including church-goers) that the bible belt wouldn't be too welcoming of a show as forward as ours. Plus, we're "not from around here."
