so maybe matt decided to offer a "they go or i go" because they are actually the first ones with enough talent to maybe challenge his kingdom? No way Matt would do that. Really though.... Matt's not evil like that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Crawford's in it for the $$$. What was the ultimate cause for firing Chris & Dale after 3 months? I can't say I'd view it as pure business because that's a short time, even in the churn-and-burn atmosphere of Radioland.
101.1 The Source has been the most schizophrenic radio station I've heard in my life. I started tuning in after moving back here in 2004 and, in all honesty, they've made some STUPID decisions in programming. In all honesty, in the short time that "The Attack Machine" was on the air, it seemed the most dynamic bit of programming that was on The Source; maybe too dynamic for their (mostly) lame format. Let's face it: a local news/talk station that recycles it's own programming to fill space overnight and in the evenings/weekends isn't exactly a ratings or revenue powerhouse. Most of the adverts on The Source are nothing but public service announcements which, to my knowledge, don't generate $ one for the station.
I agree; you guys would fit in well on 1070AM. John Ed Willoughby and Doug Layton are great guys; really legends in local broadcasting, but you guys would be a shot in the arm for their station. Yes, it is really shitty to move someone in from out of state only to can them in about a quarter.
Good luck and hope to hear you on Sun Young Crawford's competition.

Murphy has been nothing but cool with us, this had nothing to do with him. Should we stop the MySpace countdown?

Well, I honestly expected Moonpie to disappear into the horizon before Dale & Chris. I understand many here enjoy Moonie; and that's fine, but I'm not too crazy about the Rush Limbaugh Jr. act.

TONIGHT I'M USING ALL CAPS BECAUSE I AM MADDER THAN HELL. BIRMINGHAM IS WITNESS TO ONE OF THE STUPIDEST, CONNIVING, ILL THOUGHTOUT,CHICKENSHIT DEEDS I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE ATTACK MACHINE CAME HERE AND MANY OF US FOLLOWED THEM HERE. AT FIRST GLANCE IT APPEARED TO BE A LAME SITE, FULL OF NOTHING. SUDDENLY THIS PLACE IS ROCKING. MORE POSTINGS THAN I COULD READ IN ONE SITTING, A VERY ENTERTAINING DRIVE TIME MORNING SHOW AND 2 GUYS WHO FIT TOGETHER SO WELL IT SURPRISED ME. NOW, THEY'RE GONE. WHAT NOW? SOME RUBE OR SOME FINANCIAL/RELIGION OFFERING. HOW ABOUT 3 HOURS ON POTTERY OR 3 ONE HOUR SLOTS ON CITY EMPLOYMENT, RIVER RAFTING AND PAINTING BY NUMBERS. SO , SO, SO LAME. SO STUPID. SO SAD. HOW COULD THE BOZOS AT CRAWFORD NOT SEE WHAT THESE GUYS WERE DOING. THEY MUST BE BLIND FROM TOO MUCH MASTURBATION, SINCE WE ALL KNOW REAL SEX IS AGAINST THE TENET OF THE FAITH, EXCEPT TO MAKE A BABY, NEVER FOR FUN. THOSE CRAWFORD SQUIRRELS SHOULD BE OUT WORKING IN A REAL JOB LIKE EVERYONE ELSE INSTEAD OF LIVING OFF GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY BECAUSE THE STATION GETS A RELIGION TAX BREAK AND PROBABLY DONATIONS FROM LOCAL RELIGION MAVENS.
I HONESTLY HOPE CRAWFORD HAS NO SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE. IT WILL BE COOL TO WATCH THEM MISMANAGE THEMSELVES INTO OBLIVION.
ADIOS ATTACK MACHINE, FOR NOW. I KNOW YOU WILL POP BACK UP SOMEWHERE SOON. I WILL BE WAITING. PLEASE HURRY. WE NEED YOU GUYS OUT HERE, NOT INSIDE SOME CRUSADE ERA BASTION OF DUMB ASS DECISIONS. GOOD LUCK.

This definitely ticks me off. I wake up to you guys every morning and listen to you all the way to work.
I was wondering today though, and this is not just The Attack Machine show, but the station doesn't seem like it's making a lot of money. On any show. There is the news, traffic, teasers for other shows, a whole bunch of what sounds like free PSA's, and just a tiny little bit of what sounds like paid advertising.
Does the firing have to do with the new station manager, Becky what's-her-face? Okay which one of you slept with Becky and didn't call her in the morning?

FUCK Crawford broadcasting. It's a goddamn cult. The Attack Machine is/was the best talk radio this town has ever seen. The entire city is hurt by his decision. For once I am in TOTAL agreement with you!!!!!!!!

Yes, that's it. And no. No severance.
Seems we were brought here for 3 months and then left for dead. Being the fatalist that I am, I'm still trying a reason for us being here.

wtf...
Actually, they probably don't think about it in these terms, but you guys were just way too cool for that station. I mean there's Hank Erwin, Burt and Kurt, Preacher and the Doc.....The Attack Machine. Who doesn't belong here?
It has surprised me all along that you guys and the station somehow thought you were a good fit for each other. I understand why you guys would have taken the job, with Birmingham being a bigger market.
At any rate, apparently whoever is in charge thinks that the listening audience is more attuned with the likes of "The Crawford Stand". Somebody needs to tell them that they don't need 100,000 watts....
I see Matt Murphy going next, either by force or his own volition. I wonder if all the other hosts are going to be really hush hush about you guys like they were with Russ and Dee. Like you were never there. Kind of like that movie "The Forgotten."

Do not bother the other hosts with this, they have no power and are right not to talk about it.

Dammit...Thisf***ing sucks balls. Why the hell would they take off the hottest show on the dial? I really hope that Crawford and his cronies contract gonorrhea and die in a stinking sewer...fucking ass hats. This is horse shit. You guys should show up for work only naked and packing heat. But call the news first. Seriously, whenever you guys get on the air somewhere else...you should prank call the slime ball that canned you. Embarrass thef***er. I hate this shit for y'all...itf***ing sucks. You guys should submit your resumes for the Imus slot.
Hang in there guys, they'll get theirs. This station was swirling the bowl when they brought y'all in and now that they have finished dragging your faces across their shitty ass, they will flush and BOOM: the swirl starts again. Just be glad you got out before you ended up in the septic tank. Good luck guys!!

I am very dissappointed and sorry for you guys. You did an excellent job.
In the end, I really believe you were too open minded for Crawford. They want a mouth piece to spit out their stupid AGENDA. I'll be listening to Dave Ramsey and WJOX and Lee from here on out.
I never thought I could be friend s with two gator fans but you guys aren't half bad (thats as much as you are getting out of me or they will kick me out of the Big Orange Club.) Hope you find something in this market but wherever you end up, I hope you end up making more money.....that'll show the bastards!
Good luck guys and Dale, I'll be seeing you in the league.

The Attack Machiine debuted around the same time the new sports morning show started on AM 690. So that dilluted the ratings opportunity a bit.
I agree it is crappy they brought you in and fired you in three months. Good luck to both of you.
One comment about your programming style. Your constant rants about the beer law not being passed was getting old. I gave up on Russ and Dee because all they talked about were illegal aliens. I didn't care one way or the other about the beer law, but there wa no reason to keep harping on it the way you did. Give it up.

Its fine they made their point and gave their view. I just didn't want to hear about it a week later. The bill's failure affected fewer people than the Tim Tebow bill will.

I'm an adult and I drink beer. I have never tried any of the gourmet beers and wouldn't buy them if they were at my local market. you couldn't buy them before and you still can't. Your life is no differant than it was before.

So does this bother you so much you want to hear about it every day? I didn't like the pay raise but I don't want that to be a topic all the time.
Moving on...anyone suprised there was no mention of the show's cancellation on 101.1's website. I was there around 5:00 and the Attack Machine was still listed and now its as if it was never there. I understand about not wanting to promote a non-program, but at least let people know there was a programming change.

As for the e-mails saying you weren't Chrisitan enough...I would hardly consider Matt and Lee's shows to be pro-religion.
