Can we agree that the reviewer has a definite agenda?
Now I realize that I might be unable to detect the fabeled 'nuance' that Leftists seem to have in excess, but I believe the reviewer tipped his hand when he used the Olbermann hack-term "Coultergeist" at least twice.
That said, I've certainly read less fair-minded reviews of Coulter around, usually from the KOSsacks, MoveON-ers of those charming rapscallions over at HuffPuff.
I give him a great deal of credit for being fair-minded enough to recognize Coulter's humor where he does. Too often, Liberals have absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever unless it is mean-spirited, hateful and aimed at whites, men or Christians- or, best yet, all three.
I'd gladly explain to him the thinking behind the three principal objections he had to Coulter's points because all three are patently true. We'll just have to see if the interest is there for such an explanation.
I'd take issue with one of his conclusions: that Coulter should not be taken 'seriously' as a pundit.
Why?
Is it OK for Al Franken to be taken seriously? Bill Maher? Keith Olbermann? Jon Stewart? Would he have a problem with the fact that, on the Left, what those people- I'd call them 'entertainers' but they fail to achive that distinction in my mind- are most definitely taken seriously, yet they have even less of a credible background than Coulter does? Or does the fact that one agrees with Olbermann's ideology make the hypocrisy palatible?
My conclusion is that this person, slips aside, is far too reasonable overall to be truly representative of the Democrat base these days. If any sort of rational exchange is possible with a given individual, they aren't the Democrat's base. He isn't radical enough.

That he refers to himself as "Unabashedly blue" or the photo caption reading, "Yes, I was on the left side of the auditorium. Stereotypical or what? Anyway…" What amazes me is that right-wingers can't see Coulter for what she is. She's taking you for a ride. Admittedly some lefties think she's serious too. You're doing yourself a disfavor by not reading Al Frankin's books. He's funny even if you don't like his politics. He's also done a pretty thorough job of fact-checking Ann Coulter. She doesn't even try to get it right.

I clearly explained how I came to the conclusion that the reviewer was a Leftie:
He used the term "Coultergeist" which is, so far as I knew until now, the exclusive province of yet another far-Left nutball, Keith Olbermann. That's a pretty fair indicator of just where one's political ideology lies...sort of like you'd know if someone uses the appellation "Pope Algore I".
That points out yet another fundamental difference between the Left and the Right; the Right has a sense of humor.
The real reason why the Left doesn't "get" Coulter- or at least they pretend they don't- is that they are used to cornering the market when it comes to ascerbic and caustic wit. When it is turned against them- and done so far better than they could ever hope to- they revert to three-year olds who have had their lollies taken away from them. Call them a Whaaaaa-ambulance.
The words "funny" and "Al Franken" should never appear together in the same sentence unless "funny" is immediately preceded by "not by any stretch of the imagination".
However, I will cede one point and that is Franken's opinion on liars such be taken seriously.
After all, he's made a career out of lying.....

Funny: www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_daily_show/index.jhtmlSo not funny it's funny: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_1/2_Hour_News_Hour#ReceptionIf you ever read Al Frankin you'll get a hint of how Ann is taking you for a ride. Some day she's going to come out of the closet as a Stephen Colbert-style satirist. It never ceases to amaze me how much hate come from the right. You guys must really feel backed into a corner these days. Too bad you bet your movement's entire future on W and then turned on him.

Quote your Bible verses. No one here gives a shit about a piece of shit that mooches from the rest of us. You CAN work, can't you? You just choose NOT TO. Shut yourf***ing insignificant face. Ok. Are you trying to say that no hate comes from the left? That's almost what it sounds like. If so, that's absolutely absurd and you know it. Actually, our future is bet on the millions of conservative babies we're raising Too bad the left won't be able to compete with that!

To answer the earlier question of should these people be taken seriously -
Ann Coulter - No Jon Stewart - No Bill Maher - No Al Franken - No Keith Olberman - Yes (only because he is on a major news network and that gives him credibility, that and his show is very well put together.) Stephan Colbert - No

Keith Olbermann should be taken seriously?
Wow Dale...that's a pretty substantial hit to your credibility.
"Countdown" is nothing more than a televised version of DailyKOS, complete with the same litany of anti-American and anti-Republican/Conservative pap that the KOSsacks offer.
It's as unfair and unbalanced as he wants you to think Fox is.
Come to think of it, 'unfair' and 'unbalanced' pretty accurately describes Olbermann too...

Actually, our future is bet on the millions of conservative babies we're raising Too bad the left won't be able to compete with that! Zoo- That's exactly what he's trying to say. I do understand where he's coming from though. When it comes to civility, the bar is set so low on the Left that the sort of behavior that gets you ostracized if you're on the Right not only goes unpunished but frequently unnoticed. When the standard are so low, as they are for the Left in many areas, it's not all that hard to exceed expectations. The Left just isn't used to being confronted on equal ascerbic terms by someone on the Right. The Mahers, the Frankens and their sad ilk are used to having the mean-spirited comments market all to themselves. Coulter is that rare pundit on the Right- too rare if you ask me- that is willing to meet the Left on their own turf and it drives them totally nuts (and a short trip for many of them it is).
