To answer the earlier question of should these people be taken seriously - Ann Coulter - No Jon Stewart - No Bill Maher - No Al Franken - No Keith Olberman - Yes (only because he is on a major news network and that gives him credibility, that and his show is very well put together.) Stephan Colbert - No Have you actually read any of Franken's books? Hmm, hmm? Lots of good research totally missed by right-wingers who prefer him as a straw man. The best one is "Why Not Me?" but that's before he became a serious pundit. His radio show was kind of crappy.

Keith Olbermann should be taken seriously? Wow Dale...that's a pretty substantial hit to your credibility. "Countdown" is nothing more than a televised version of DailyKOS, complete with the same litany of anti-American and anti-Republican/Conservative pap that the KOSsacks offer. It's as unfair and unbalanced as he wants you to think Fox is. Come to think of it, 'unfair' and 'unbalanced' pretty accurately describes Olbermann too... Everything you just wrote was true, the question was do you take this person seriously. The answer is yes.

Stephan Colbert - No I'm confused... Is this list your feelings on journalistic credibility... Or whether or not you'd "hit it"... I'm a little concerned... LOL...

Dale-
With respect. if your only criteria as to whether a pundit should be taken seriously is access to a media outlet, then "Preacher and the Doc", with their hawking of potassium iodide to treat the radiation poisoning from Iran's suitcase nukes that are located in 22 American cities should be taken seriously.
Olbermann is an ultra-left wing nutjob with delusions of adequacy.

Olbermann is an ultra-left wing nutjob with delusions of adequacy. Olberman sounds pretty libertarian to me. But of course you would hate that.

brandon-
You'd have to do some convincin' to make me believe that Olbermann is a libertarian. If you're willing to argue your case, I'm willing to listen.
And I don't hate Libertarians or libertarianism. As the deck is currently stacked against them, I just think a vote for them is a vote for Democrats. As the system currently exists, you're far more likely to get a libertarian agenda advanced by voting for and electing conservative Republicans.

It's like this dude... you're not gonna take up libertarianism. Therefore, I'm not gonna waste my time trying to get you to believe in FREEDOM. I understand that you're willing to listen; you're just not willing to listen to REASON. If you hate freedom, then there's no reason in me trying to make you love freedom.

As I said, it's a very, very short jump from conservatism to libertarianism.
The folks that really oppose freedom are the liberals.
Your ire would be better directed towards them, not conservatives like me.
