Dale said this in another thread:
"Your problem is not with us it is with talk radio in general, you do not like the conservative slant you see. Guess what, it is there and there is no attempt to hide it. Your implication that we are towing some imaginary line you are trying to draw with Crawford Broadcasting is silly."
This is refreshingly honest. But you could double your audience if you'd weigh both sides of issues rather than just rationalize the neo-con agenda. Besides the neo-cons are on the run. Still strong in the Bible belt, but they're a dying breed.
Air America admits it's left-wing but most right-wing radio shows try to pass themselves off as mainstream. I think they depend on the ignorance and gullibility of a lot of their listeners.
Bring on some gay guy and talk about sports. You would do your audience a great favor if you humanized some of their straw men.
You guys are much more moderate than most conservative talk-show hosts. This is why you will succeed. I believe most people can see through the naked dishonesty of many of your peers. Hopefully you'll be in the 'ham for while.

Air America? LOL. They went backrupt...are they even still on the air?
As far as weighing both sides of an issue. It's really not needed most of the time. People have an ideological core and it only takes a few seconds to evaluate any "new" issue or problem to see how it compares to the ideological core. If it's against the core, then it is rejected, if it doesn't contradict the core, then it is accepted. Very few debates give a person pause anymore...because almost every issue that is brought up is just a different variation of the same thing.
The problem isn't that people don't evaluate both sides of an issue, the problem is that there can only be one view that is correct or better than all other known options and people can not accept that.

Air America? LOL. They went backrupt...are they even still on the air? I've been listening to Air America all morning. The only talk radio standard with iTunes. They seem pretty healthy healthy. That Sam Seader is funny. Strange how I keep hearing on the right-wing shows that they're out of business. www.airamerica.com/

No, no, I've got it. Get a Mexican on your show. Just some regular guy that happens to be Mexican. Not a Mexican who hates Mexicans.
Given whose time slot you took that ought to light up the phones.

phin-
Interesting that you mention Air America's financial woes:
[ftp]http://newsbusters.org/node/10685[/ftp]
Lessee...Rush Limbaugh makes $25 million a year and the ENTIRE Air American network sells for only $4.25 million- and that only if the seller assumes much of the staggering debt that the failed entireprise ran up?
The real bad news is that this gives Democrats just the sort of evidence they need to reintroduce the Fairness Doctrine to close down conservative radio. If they can't compete in the free and open marketplace of ideas, they'll use the government to shut down competition. So much for free speech and diversity of opinion, eh?

25 million will buy a lot of Viagra and painpills!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup....almost enough to tune out (dead)Air America. I wonder if the Harlem youth group that Air American embezzled $800k from will be getting any of their money back from the bankruptcy proceedings...
