Intersting that this is from 2 years ago and now it is bearing out.
The Coming Starvation In America October 3, 2005 The government of the United States, by Law was to always maintain a three year mixed- grain survival storage for every man, woman, and child in the United States. Like most Laws of the land, the politicians never took head as to why our wise ancestors had this reserve requirement established. It was to make sure, that, in the time of a National Emergency, the people had the most important mainstay needed for survival individually and as a Nation. Remember, the people make the Nation, the Nation does not make the people. In the 1960's and 1970's the different political administrations of Washington, D.C. walked away from sanity and started to give the surplus grains which where in elevator storage all over the country, to other nations, such as the Soviet Union, India, etc.. This continued over two decades, until the elevators were empty and the reserve of grains that were in reserve as per a national crisis....were gone. Of course this was done as to inhance international "friendship" with other nations, even if those other nations were self-admitted enemies of the United States. Remember, there was enough grain in storage, paid for by the American tax-payer, to last the masses inside the United States for three full years, if need be. But now it all is but gone! By 1996, the United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) claimed that there was enough food in ware-house storage to last every man, woman and child in the cities a 3 day supply and a 5 day supply for every man, woman, and child in the countryside, should a great national emergency occur. In other words, if food trucks stopped running, the food supplies for the masses would be 3 days in the cities and 5 days in the countryside. In 2003, the U.S.D.A. stopped measuring for "days in reserve" of food for every man, woman, and child in the United States because the amount of food in storage in the United States dropped under a 1 day food supply for every man, woman, and child in the United States. Thus, the U.S.D.A. started to measure in individual pounds as to how much food was in the food-chain per person in the United States as per 300 million people. In 2003, there was 77 pounds of food per person in the warehouse food-chain in the United States. What this means, is that during a national emergency, only 77 pounds of food per person is available before all food is TOTALLY GONE in the United States. By September of 2005, there is now only 15.7 pounds of reserved foodstuffs in the food-chain for every man, woman, and child in the United States. This means that there has been an 80% decrease in the past two years. That decrease is becoming greater with every passing day in the United States. Of the 15.7 pounds of warehoused reserved food-stuffs, 11.0 pounds of the 15.7 pounds consists of unprocessed wheat. The rest of the 15.7 pounds of survival foods in storage for every man, woman, and child, totaling 4.7 pounds, consists of the following foods: 1. Non-fat dry milk 2. Cheese 3. Corn by the bushel 4. Peanuts by the pound 5. Lentils by the pound That's it folks ! . . . This is what the District of Columbia has set aside representing the 15.7 pounds in the survival food-chain for every man, woman, and child to stay alive on. This is not a daily supply, this amount represents the total food everyone will get for ....how long, who knows! The U.S.D.A. Crop Production Report per September 12, 2005, contained said information, and this information was brought forth by Alan Guebert of the Farm & Food Report. Collective communist farming failed in the Soviet Union and communist China, and the present form of Collective Farming (paying the farmers not to grow food) has totally failed in the United States. Mr. Guebert also stated, that one more disaster as the likes of the hurricanes Katrina or Rita against the United States, or anything to compare to such in whatever way, would create such a food panic, it would make the New Orleans rioting look like the Mardi Gras. The United States Government for the past 75 years has been driving the United States deeper and deeper into the realm of communism. The United States is financially broke, the farms are broken down, the Nation has been de-industrialized, and the outsourcing of jobs continues to this day. Both corrupt federal administrations, the Democrat and Republican eat off the same plate. They have labeled that plate; "Screw the taxpayer, each and every one of them." Our European ancestors were very wise, honest and full of common sense. They had food cellars where they had food canned, that could last themwell over a year, insuring them that they would be able to plant a crop the following summer, and still be able to survive waiting for crops to mature and harvest. They did not rely on the corrupt politicans who are liars and thieves. But as I said, time passed by and the people put a false trust in their elected and appointed public servants thinking that these same people were looking out for their personal interests. How sadly wrong the people were then, and still are. In conclusion, I highly suggest that you pull your head out of the sand, check your food supplies, and if you do not have 6 months to a years food in reserve, then you had best sell something or do whatever you have to do, to immediately prepare yourself and your loved ones for safety. If you can store two years at this time: DO IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Remember, the 15.7 pounds of food in reserve is becoming less by the day, and at the present rate of speed, the United States is heading to what is called.... meal to meal. One more major disaster will drive the United States to its knees. The federal government, for itself, has millions of tons of preserved foods stashed away in underground storages, but this food is not for the masses, unless they surrender their firearms, and then they will get a food coupon from the *feds* to buy out of the federal government food warehouse wherever it is set up in your area. ............. has always subjected and controlled the masses using FOOD. Remember, FOOD CONTROL IS PEOPLE CONTROL, and this same plan is being laid out laid out against the masses in the United States by COMMUNISTS in both the Republican and Democratic parties of the United States. New Orleans was your cue: Now prepare! You have been warned.

I can add something to the conspiracy.
The Bush Administration recently outlined a proposal to make the US more energy dependent by drastically expanding the use of ethanol fuels.
Ethanol is made from.....>CORN<.
People >EAT< corn!
So the Evil Bush is going to force you to choose between your car and your stomach!

has the price of corn gone way up?
is cornsyrup one of the most common and widely used sweeteners in many foods?
have prices at the store gone way up on many items?
is corn one of the staples of livestock feed?
has beef and milk prices gone UP?
ANYONE that thinks ethanol production is going to help in the oil situation, is ignorant of reality and the FACT is ethanol production will cause much higher prices for FOOD.

Not only that but, as I alluded to in the Global Warming thread, ethanol actually releases MORE CO2 into the atmosphere than gasoline does (because the amount of ethanol necessary to produce a given number of BTUs is far more than gasoline).

But one should also consider that when the biomass that is used to produce ethanol is grown, it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere, which makes ethanol a mostly CO2 neutral energy source... On the other hand, the oil is taking a "locked up" source of CO2 and putting it into the atmosphere. It's an addition to the total atmospheric CO2 level rather than recycling what is already there...

Anyway, the whole idea that there will be so much corn used for ethanol that it will keep the price up at the present level is just nonsense... There isn't capacity to use the grain now, and building ethanol plants will take several more seasons, at least. It's all a speculators market fueled by the feel good speech that Bush made, combined with weakness of the dollar. This is drawing the "fast buck" people into the commodities markets, and will end sooner or later... (I'm old, and I've seen it before... LOL) Not that I'm so mad about the prices going up like they have. Sure, food will cost more for everyone, but I get to raise the rent on our farm ground up north! LOL

Basically it is all BS. When are people going to realize that they are being played for total fools? Try and look into history ( while you still can)! Is there an agenda to destroy this country and advance a one world agenda? Yes. Look back to history while you still can. To tell you the truth, I am totally dissapointed in this forum that people will talk about this and not do the research and use their own damned common sense! People want to lash out without doing the research! Well when the S _ _ _ hits the fan, do not come crying on the shoulders of those that have tried to tell you the truth! I am very proud of being Southern. Southerners still hold true to morality, patriotism and family than any other part of the Country! Now, anyone want to challenge me on this than go ahead! I know my heart and trust in my research and instincts!
Am I pissed off about what is going on in our Country, you better believe it! If you are not, than you have no clue what is going on or you condone the destruction of our Country!
I do not give a rats rear end about political correctness as it is nothing more than a way for those that gain from it to make more money. Research and statistics are being ignored.
When are you going to wake up!

NEVER!!
The most powerful country in the world will not voluntarily surrender its soveriegnty to a North American Union and they sure aren't going to let their citizens starve.
Perhaps we should search some more mainstream internet sites for our info. That way we have more credibility and don't come off like a conspiracy nutjob.

Southerners still hold true to morality, patriotism and family than any other part of the Country! I'll disagree on that. It is an unfounded assertion. You have provided no study or statistical analysis or poll to back it up. So I'll see what I can dig up. Start with the FBI's Uniform Crime Report (UCR) from 2005: Table 30For the 'Southern' region see the Table 30 Data DeclarationStatistically speaking there is no great departure of the South from other regions either better or worse in crime. There are bad and good people all over. As a measure of patriotism let's look at the amount of federal money spent in the South per dollar received compared to the other regions. Tax Foundation 2004 dataHere there is a slight bias against the South. Slight, because for the distribution is fairly even with different regions tending a bit toward different ranks. It is not appreciable given the overall financial outlooks of these regions. Using taxes paid versus Federal money spent as a measure, the South doesn't appear to clearly win in Patriotism either. I tried and failed to find a good report on Military Enlistment by region, so I'll resort to this Census report on employment of persons 16+ mapThis clearly shows there is no specialty to the South in this area. The best I came up with for the military angle from the Heritage Foundation shows slightly higher enlistment in the South. And what was left? Family? Here's another Census.gov map. This one shows the percentage of households that are married couples. Once again the South is no higher than other regions. What about children? That may be slightly higher in the South. Again, not significantly more so. (That map is here) And that's enough googling for today for me. I'm not saying anything bad about the South. There's good people and bad people anywhere and everywhere. The South does have its share of problems like anywhere else and we don't have a magic or magnet toward morality, patriotism, and family that others lack. As a man born and raised and living in the South I am proud to be able to dispute your claims that the South has some surplus or that other regions have a deficiency in morality, family, patriotism. Putting a special license plate on your car or a cross on your door... sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. Not to say they aren't moral or patriotic or religious, but a symbol alone is like a check or an IOU. Until it is paid the symbol is worthless. Looking forward to your refutation of my findings.

Speaking of corn... has anyone noticed the great deals on corn lately? They're like 8 ears for $1.99 at Publix and the specials have been running at most of the stores for weeks now.
Do you think that the government's subsidization of the farmers to produce corn for ethanol has resulted in an overabundance of corn?

Southerners still hold true to morality, patriotism and family than any other part of the Country! This is merely stating the obvious. There are indeed good and bad people all over the country. A given. How patriotism and federal spending/taxation in the South are supposed to be linked is beyond me. Such a correlation doesn't exist. Were the South freed from the shackles imposed upon it by the federal government, there would be no need for federal spending in the region. After all, the Fair Tax idea that so many are totally in awe of originated with a GEORGIA congressman! Perhaps a better measure would be charitable giving, but even that isn't an accurate measure of patriotism. Nevertheless, is does represent an important characteristic of Christian morals. In this category, the South leads the way by a hefty margin. Perhaps a better measure of patriotism is the bearing of arms as mandated by the Founders. Here again, the South leads the way with the nation's least restrictive gun laws. In the north and in the People's Republic of California is where you'll find the tightest gun restrictions and the worst levels of crime that said restrictions cause. You misrepresent the data presented in your own link. Military enlistment in the South is considerably higher. Since the inception of the volunteer force, recruits from the South have comprised from 35 to 42 percent of the military ranks. Tennessee isn't called the "Volunteer State" because of the football team, either. In this there is a grain of truth. Much of the magic of the South lies in its agrarian/rural roots, and the de-emphasis of that entity has ravaged families across the Midwest as well as the South. The sense of self-reliance and the work ethic that were important components of said is what has been lost, and that to the detriment of families. We can thank Northern corporate entities as well as a meddlesome Federal government with its imposition of Great Society programs for much of this. Admitting that you "googled" your response belies the fact that you don't possess an intimate and well-grounded knowledge of the South. You've failed. Your ignorance of history is amazing. Until it is paid? Let's see...............Manassas, Shiloh, Antietam, Chickamauga, Seven Pines, etc., etc. My pleasure.

He might be doing just that, WOMI, and this particular matter has nothing to do with conspiracy, rather the rewarding of political contributors. Then again, perhaps it is conspiracy. The only reason ethanol is even being considered as an alternative fuel source is because of the windfall that will befall the agri-business concerns. The price of corn will skyrocket if ethanol production really takes off. Ethanol is terribly inefficient as a source of fuel. The cost of production is 125% of the net gain. A much better solution would be the farming of algae to produce bio-fuel. If I remember correctly, an acre of corn will produce about 100 gallons of ethanol, whereas one acre of algae will produce, believe it or not, 10,000 gallons of oil. Some forms of algae have a mass that is comprised of 50% oil. In algae farming, even non-potable water sources can be used, and that in arid climates. The algae cleans the water, thus recycling a valuable resource. Processed algae can produce valuable fertilizers. This is indeed the way to go. Given that the President of the United States HAS to have access to such information, he must simply be being driven by corporate interests on this matter. Algae, anyone?

lawman, deovindice, I thank you both for your replies. I admit defeat on this matter. It was a shoddy attempt and not received as well as I had hoped. The level of misunderstanding with what I wrote and how I portrayed it is disappointing to me, but I can let it go knowing none of you really care.
When I see Americans speak ill of Mexicans or Islamic Nations or the like I feel that Jesus Christ (and Muhammad and numerous other folks including Einstein and Gandhi and King) would like them to know they are speaking ill of their brothers and sisters. When I hear the railing against illegal immigrants and that an entire region of the world wants us dead, or that we should only speak English, I balk.
At the end of the day the thing everyone seems to forget is we want close enough to the same thing in all the ways that matter and our main disagreement is over how to accomplish that. And that goes for Republicans and Democrats as much as for Americans and Iraqis and Mexicans.
I believe that narrowed pride for the South and the USA and so on rejects that notion and serves to divide the world. It's more difficult to reach a compromise and actually create the better world we all want. And that's a pity.
We'll all be dead before we know it, but that legacy will carry on unless we decide to change it. And as much as I love being called names by people I'd much rather work on a solution so that in a hundred years the South (and all the rest) will really have something to be proud of.

I thank you for bringing your thoughts to the forum. Your presentation was not a failure. We all learn from these exchanges. ..............and you're wrong. I do care. I just view these things from a different perspective. That people speak ill of Mexicans or Muslims is indeed true, but people do it for different reasons. I do not speak ill of Mexicans. I speak ill of illegal alien invaders who do not have respect for our immigration laws. I endured the process with my wife and, by damn, I expect others to endure it as well. Jefferson explained our immigration policy in detail, and justified it magnificently. I speak ill of Muslims, it is true, not because they are different, but because they hold to a belief system that views me and my children as subhuman, and I've never done a damned thing to them. They persecute my fellow believers in Christ simply because Mohammed told them to. I agree that they are our brothers and sisters, but they are not behaving well. This country has done some stupid things throughout the world, but then, we have done some wonderful things as well. The main problem as I see it, is that much of the world is simply jealous of our successes. True to a point, but those disagreements stem from the fact that there are differences among people. The Founders spoke at length about human nature and the differences among the various peoples of the world, and at the end of the day, the best we can hope for is to cling to ourselves and try to get along with the rest. That one fact has never changed and never will until Christ returns. That there are regional differences among the citizens of America need not be a dividing factor, as long as those differences are respected. When they are not, that is when divisions arise. As you stated, the things that unite us, the most basic of human needs, should be the focus of our energies. The South already has something to be proud of. A rich cultural legacy, tainted with transgressions yes, nevertheless great. The same goes for other regions of the country, as well as the world. If your desired solution is to have all the people of the world to think and act as one, you will be disappointed. History has already precluded that from happening. Of course the catalyst that will change that is the return of Christ. Until then, it won't happen.

What you fail to realize is that people do have an ability to raltionalize and connect dots and do not believe everything that is being spoon fed to them by the main stream media. Why is this? because they can SEE what is happening all around them! They have their eyes open and yet, those that have wits about them are being trashed! Well guess what, I do not give a rats rear end! I know the MSM is owned lock stock and barrel by corporate elites and real journalism has become a way of the past. No longer is investigation of a story being put forth. No, it is sensationalism. The MSM has become nothing nore than tabloids. Follow the green!

Brandon you bring up an interesting point. How many people realize how much we are dependent on corn? Very few. So all of a sudden we have this big push to use corn as an alternative source of fuel. Just use the reasoning that God gave you to figure out where this is heading! Shortages of bread, animal feed, just about everything that effects our food sources. When are people going to use their natural curisoty to look into things? It is not that hard, which really bothers me, because the destruction of our country is in such plain sight and the American people cannot see it!
Well yes maybe I can. Our children are being dumbed down and the education system is being totally destroyed (try investigating the UN in all of this). I do not know who is behind the destruction of western civilization but make NO mistake, it is real and it is happening. I know I am not the only one that sees this!

How many people realize how much we are dependent on corn? The farmers that are planting record amounts of corn probably have some idea of "how much we are dependent on corn." And they (independently thinking individual farmers) are banking on higher prices caused by greater ethanol production.

And one would also think that the farmers are hedging production in record levels through sales of CBOT contracts of the amount of grain they are growing, and will buy the same amount of contracts back at at harvest to lock in their profit levels now. They should be thanked for helping keep speculators in check and grain prices from jumping even higher.

I had thought about that but didn't think it through to the extent- not nearly- that you did.
Bush is obviously pandering to illegals to gain their votes; why not farmers as well?
Again a bit of speculation:
Bush isn't an unintelligent man, despite what some would have you believe. He is very reluctant to implement change, especially drastic change. He would prefer to make a series of smaller changes over time that lead to a desired goal rather than make one or two large-scale changes that lead to the same desired result, even if the desired goal should be attained as quickly as possible.
As an example, I give you his conduct of the war in Iraq.
Bush has always been willing to delegate responsibility and has never been reticent about surrounding himself with people whose experiences in various areas make up for his shortcomings in them. Remember that, early on in his Presidency, there was much admiration, even among critics, of the 'brain trust' he'd assembled to serve in his cabinet.
And then there's the 'loyalty factor'. Bush considers it a violation of that trust to rid himself of close associates even if they've proven to be liabilities.
So he was overly slow to replace ineffective generals, slow to replace Rumsfeld, slow to bring in personnel who could articulate alternatives to the conduct of the war, etc.
OK...in the context of ethanol versus bio-fuels, ethanol presents exactly the sort of slow, incremental change that Bush seems to favor, while bio-fuels present a radical departure from the status quo that Bush is loathe to make.
Well...that and Haliburton doesn't have a monopoly on biofuels yet. When they do, Bush will act. Oh yes. Then.
