regarding my karma rating and being ignorant as to how it is determined numerically, I can only assume that dropping even lower into the negative integers is a good thing. I went from a -1 to -3 in a less than 48 hour period. Elation is an understatement as I am flattered beyond description. THANK YOU!!!! My month has just been made. Unfortunately,brown-nosing and sucking up will do no good. I frown upon such tactics. Being beyond reproach, I will still have to call it as I see it. pout not as I am really appreciative of my numerical ranking considering the talent your fan base displays w/each and every post on this magnificante point of congregation simply titled "Talkback Forum". I remain humbled.

I'm not a fan of the "karma rating" feature either.
Frankly, I can't see the point of having a rating system wherein you get to punish another uers simply because you disagree with him or her.
Yeah I know that the 'real' reason its there is so that someone who violates the board's code of conduct or engages in personal attacks can be singled out for karmatic punishment as it were....but, really, don't we all know that people are going to be punished on the basis of dissent?
I think the MM forums- or maybe Lee Davis' forums- had the karma rating thingy. I refused to use it then and I refuse to use it now. Know that, if your rating goes down, I didn't do it.

I personally could care less what my Karma is, it doesn't influence what I post in the least. My Karma was a 6 before this issue was brought up first...my posts didn't change to make it rise to a 6 and they didn't change to lower it to a 0. That leads me to believe it had nothing to do with what I post and it's a personal issue of some people. That's how I would look at it backstabber.

Dale-
I have no doubt that there are good intentions behind the Karma rating system.
However, people tend to pervert those good intentions to simply "take down a peg" anyone whom dares disagree with them. I've seen exactly that happen far too often.
Might be worth running a poll on whether or not to turn it off.
