I actually met Jane Goodall when my wife was on the Today Show a couple of years ago. She gave my wife a copy of her new book and signed it with a long message about never giving up on her battle and how keeping a positive attitude would help her in life. She was a VERY nice woman to my wife.
After she left, one of the NBC folks I had been talking to said that Jane was a sweet woman. He added that he didn't agree with a lot of her ideas...but that she was sweet regardless.

I think Friedman would make an excellent guest.
He's obviously very liberal in his views on many issues but, like Sen. Joe Liebermann, he recognized the threat from the Jihadists is real and that our goals and efforts in Iraq were noble, if poorly conducted. I think that is a perfectly legitimate argument to make and I applaud him for doing so.
I also agree with McCullough. I'm a bit of an amateur historian and militarist but, having read "1776", I realized how little I knew about our revolution. His book was a wealth of information presented in a very entertaining way- a rarity among 'history books'. While I- and obviously you- would enjoy him, I'm not so sure that the vast majority of listeners would be changing stations to "Rick and Bubba" en masse.

Do not misconstrue. This is not a dream guest/unrealistic thought process. I do,however, think that having Larry Langford back as a guest and not a show controller would be interesting. Langford jerked and snatched both Les and Haircut 100 around while on the air and skewed the outcome of what had been the premise of grilling the man that was asked to be a guest. Have him back but keep his leash short. Thank you in advance.
