Guys, I think you should try to get Larry Langford on your show. After all, he is talking about running for Mayor. Give him a chance to sound off.

There was a guy who had just posted on the Matt Murphy forum a day or so before it got pulled. I believe he was running for Mayor...if anybody remembers his name or the link to his website, then put it on, he may be a good guest. Any person running for office that get's on one of these forums deserves some respect. Edit: had it still in my web history... Darryl W. Perry dwp2016.org/

Yeah, I would like to hear what he's got to say. If you guys really wanna stir up some attention, get Russ and Dee to come on...granted, you'd probably lose your jobs, but that's just small details guys.

That would be real d**n smart, to have on the same couple who got kicked off from the same time slot!

I bet they'd be the hottest thing on the radio until they got their pink slips at the next commercial break. ;D

Patrick Cooper -- a mayoral candidate. Talked to him before and he is sharp. He's probably the most intelligent of all candidates (I think a graduate of Yale.) I believe those already imbedded in the system will try to keep him away. Go ahead and get him on soon.
Time with people like Langford and Smoot is a waste.

We are working on Tancredo. Also, a few people that I did not expect a call back from have contacted me so we may be in for some surprise guests in the near future.
In case you are wondering, still no call back from Langford's people. I'm going to go act surprised now.

I think an interesting show could be made by inviting Raed Awad of Birmingham Islamic Society, who has been a fund raiser for a front group of Hamas and Rabbi Jonathan Miller who calls for the Jewish comunity to refrain from participating in interfaith initiatives with the BIS. www.al.com/news/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1160385481149500.xml&coll=2&thispage=1Perhaps other forum members could suggest other guests that might be more familiar with the finances of "Holy Land Foundation."

Larry Langford in studio this month?? Does anyone really want to hear what he has to say? What a waste of airtime!!! Why give a guy like that the spotlight/free airtime?? Hasn't he already proven what he's about? Turn the freakin' same music OFF!!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Phoenix. He's the pink underwear sheriff.

Joe Arpaio would be a great guest. Maybe you should have Mike Hale come in studio while talking to Joe. That would be interesting.

I don't think that Hale would ever agree to it. Arpaio is too much of a real law enforcer. He'd make Hale look ridiculous. It'd be like getting Chuck Norris and Boy George in the same room together.

The owner and creator of www.perverted-justice.com/, Xavier Von Erck. He works with law enforcement to get sexual preditors off the streets. Dateline airs a regular segment called "To Catch a Preditor" that uses Xavier's staff to help catch online preditors. I am sure he would do a phone interview if not find time for an in house interview. If interested and you have a hard time getting in touch with him let me know. I can hit him up on my IM to let him know you are interested and have attempted to contact him. He isn't aloof, just extremely swamped with emails.

Hope you have made a call to Patrick Cooper (mayoral candidate.) He made his official announcement yesterday. Go ahead and have him in -- perhaps the day after Langford.
Patrick Cooper -- Birmingham attorney -- number should be in phonebook.

Have ya'll called Patrick Cooper yet? You made the statement this morning about Langford being reelected over and over. For some reason guys like this get the media coverage. Get the other candidates on and quick. This way, the audience will know about their other choices. And if they find another candidate they like, maybe they will get on the bandwagon to help that candidate. The earlier, the better.

Do you have a website for Cooper? I'd like to learn something about him and his platform before we have him on. I've searched and seached and can only come up with a phone number. And an old Op-Ed piece from the newspaper. I would hope a serious mayoral contender would have a webpage up by now, 9 months before the election. Hell, even Darryl Perry has a website. I guess you can call it that.
Either way, they will all get invites. I agree with you about the audience knowing their choices. I just like to spread them out throughout the course of the season. Not all on back to back to back.

You are right -- he should have website up by now. Just called and they said should be up anyday (website.)
I understand that you do not want to have these candidates on back to back. But I also know it is important to give them early coverage. People who get involved in campaigns often latch on early -- just don't want too many riding Langford's train before they hear the other candidates.
Also, I don't know if Cooper will be the one to support. Don't know his plan. But I know he is the most intelligent of those who have announced. When I heard him talking about running a year ago, I thought, "Wow, somebody with some sense will be running!"

Mr. Cooper was on Matt Murphy's program this afternoon.... He seems to have his act together (as much as anyone who wants to be mayor of B'ham, anyway!)

We have actually left a couple of voicemails with Mr. Cooper's office. Not returning voicemails and not having a website are not ways to win my vote. Good for him I don't live in Birmingham!

OK. I just called Cooper's office. Secretary said she has not gotten call from you. I asked if maybe she had sent it through to voice mail. She said no. Anyway, she gave me Cooper's campaign manager's name and number. Her name is Shelia Tyson 249-8559. I called her and she said she had not talked with you either. But she is supposed to call you now.
You're welcome.
