The new trussville school is a 70.9 million dollar project for Doster construction of Birmingham AL. This is a taxpayer funded project. I would encourage everyone on this forum and the show host as well to call Doster construction at 205-433-3800 and ask if they will be employing illegal aleins directly and allowing subcontractors that employ illegals on this project. Also will they allow their subcontractors to use 2nd teir contractors code word illegal alein labor. This is tax dollars so should not refuse the question.

Will check it out as soon as I can. I have started a new job and I will not have as much time as I would like to keep up!

Quick question...
In a city-funded public school setting (like Trussville's), do the tax payer funds come from the state, or the city of Trussville (or a combination of both)? Anyone know?

A combination of both. Look up the state portion that went into the new Pell City expansion.

If I owned the construction company and somebody other than the government asked me about my employees I would tell them to go jump in the lake.

This looks like another one of those cases where, when we start showing outrage, we end up with nothing but being outrageous... One would like to think that you could go to the attorney general for stuff like this, but with baseball season started, he probably has moved his office to club level at Turner Field courtesy of Alabama Power...

So you are saying taxpaying citizens should not be able to question if tax dollars are being spent legally or not. I disagree, that is part of the problem. I beleive they should offer publicly proof that each employee has the legal right to be on this project. If there will be nothing to hide why do you disagree.

Of course I think there should be accountability... That's a given...but the lack of accountability in government is at the heart of almost any problem along this line... The problem is who to ask...the attorney general should be in position to address these kinds of questions...but I'm still trying to figure out who is going to make HIM accountable!!! My cynicism is not unfounded... Doster Construction is accountable (in theory) to government...government is SUPPOSED to be accountable to us..but we have recently seen THAT theory in action, haven't we??

Go to the next meeting of the Trussville school board and ask them. Calling the construction company isn't going to get you anywhere.

Corporations should be accountable also. The law states that anyone that hires someone in this country illegally is aiding and abetting. Pure and simple! Go after the employers that hire illegals and they will have no reason to come here because they will not be able to get jobs. American workers are losing jobs left right and center because the greedy companies want the cheap labor so they can reap more profits. There is NO way anyone can tell me that the unemployment numbers are true if you have done the research and have any common sense!
Why are not the laws being enforced, follow the money trail!

With state tax money going into this project, every taxpayer in the stat has a right to question if their money is being spent on legal labor. And any company doing business with the state should have no problem providing documentation showing each and everyone working there has the legal right. And I am talking about documentation that is verifiable by ICE, not the kind that can be bought at Mercado in Hoover.

It looks like no one here is disagreeing with you about our "right to know"...what did Doster say when you called them?
