The lawsuit, filed by Jennifer Hall, was given class-action status in U.S. District Court. It claims that the plant's operations manager, Paul White, and Complex Manager Phyllis Thomas intentionally hired illegal immigrants to reduce wages for all plant employees. Plaintiffs include hourly paid workers who have been employed by Pilgrim's Pride or Gold Kist Inc., now a Pilgrim's subsidiary, at each of the companies' facilities around the United States, the Times Daily of Florence, Ala., reported. The lawsuit, which Pilgrim's Pride Director of Corporate Communications Ray Atkinson told Meatingplace.com "is completely without merit," does not specifically name Pilgrim's Pride or Gold Kist. Atkinson also said that the company uses the Basic Pilot Employment Verification Program, a voluntary initiative under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security, to ensure the legality of its new hires. Shares of Pilgrim's Pride were $32.30, up 45 cents, in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Source: Alicia Karapetian; Meatingplace

This is good I believe the only way you are going to see change is thru publicly shameing these companies. We can tell they have no fear or respect for our laws.

Exactly, until the people start waking up and BOYCOTTING nothing will change!
It is time for the people to stand up and say NO MORE! We are not slaves (and that means ALL OF US!) We have become nothing more than a commodity to the politicans and the big corporations. The United States Chamber of Commerce supports illegal immigration (cheap labor) and is backing it! If you doubt me, go look at the Chamber of Commerce web site!
