Here's the station's appeal to their listening audience: " We Can Use "A Little Help from Our Friends"
If you're one of our great LEGENDS 1260 listeners....please help us to get out the word. Tell your friends....and urge advertisers to jump on board to help us keep this great music on local radio.
Here's another way that you can help us in the music revolution. Broadcast libraries are pretty much non-existent for the kind of music we're playing. You can help us add to our playlist by making available your favorite CDs. Obviously we can't use everything. The artists and music must qualify as LEGENDS. Your help will help us continue to grow our programming and give you the best product possible."
Hell, is Crawdaddy too damned cheap to pick up these Time-Life compilation CD's off the internet for $10 or so? Geez, what a first-rate outfit that would be to advertise on!!

"You can help us add to our playlist by making available your favorite CDs."
Would this mean that they want people to let them "use" their CDs to make mp3 (ogg, flac, or whatever) copies to play on a commercial radio station? Something tells me that the RIAA would be at least mildly interested in this, as I don't think it would qualify as "fair use" under copyright laws... (even if they pay royalties per play)... Someone may want to make them aware of the possible legal problems that could arise from doing this, and maybe direct them to The Pirate Bay or one of the P2P networks... LOL!
Making your employees circumvent copyright law so they can have music to play is sooo tight assed...

I don't know what they are doing, but as long as they pay the usage fees they will be ok.
