I was reading up on something and noticed this tidbit. I find it rather interesting and will have to look more losely at it later.
Judg 12:5-6
5 And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;
6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand. KJV

yep...enunciation was a test....
the verse I used to love to use at work was Acts 19:32 when we had some silly meeting...
"...and the whole assembly was confused, and the most part did not know why they had come together."

"...and the whole assembly was confused, and the most part did not know why they had come together."
Hmm... Obviously a reference to some kind of drunken orgy...
Enunciation.... Reminds me of the trials and tribulations of my old friend Farquard Fuddpucker and his two sons, Fredrick and Phil, who suffered from terrible cases of auditory processing disorder...
Not to mention their unfortunate cousins, Hymen and Areola Asselstein...
