Actually, I don't know what's done in such a case. I wonder if Bush would order a mass invasion and all-out war. Or if he'd finally see the light and realize they want us out of their land.

Section 2 of the 25th Amendment. The President would nominate somebody to replace Cheney and upon a simple majority vote in both houses of congress people present, the person would become Vice President. I don't know what is stopping him now...but if Cheney died, Condi Rice would be his nomination in my opinion if she wanted it.

killer,
When are you going to understand, that it DOESN"T matter what other people want all the time. Terrorists want to kill us all...so do we let them because you would rather appease their wishes and interests over American's?
I have the feeling that if we turned the clock back to the late 1930s and we had an internet, you would be saying the same sort of stuff in relation to Nazi Germany.

I just don't understand people that have a self deprecating view of their country.

killer, When are you going to understand, that it DOESN"T matter what other people want all the time. phinehas, You should understand that it DOES matter what other people want. Both sides should work together instead of one side wanting to be Big Boss. That attitude just pisses people off. So as our government goes around the world demanding to make policy there -- people don't like it.

So as our government goes around the world demanding to make policy there -- people don't like it. That's just it, for some reason you can't stand for anyone to be a big boss. You think everything should be equal in this world. Reality is that not everyone or any country for that matter is equal. I am surprised that you don't take that stance in other areas. If you were intellectually consistent then I should be reading comments from you about how the illegal aliens "have a right to make a living" or rich Westerners should give half of their GNP to the poor countries, etc. stuff like that. But you don't. You have an issue with a country being in a position of global dominance from a military standpoint. That is why you WANT North Korean and Iran to have nukes. You could care less that them having nukes put's us in danger and affects our interests in an economical and military manner, you just want it to be "fair". Who said Afghanistan is not working with US on terrorism in the scope of their country? The people you say want us out are mainly the ones that want us dead. Who gives a shit what they want...Do you care about Al Qaida's wishes? That's what it seems is your angst. Just say it...you are on the side of Jihadists and don't like America being able to defeat them or push them around. Defend your real position in this matter and not the fake position of defending innocent people.

Why are soldiers of no value to you? I care about OUR soldiers and our Allies. I however DON'T care about the enemies soldiers. Do you think war is played with Nerf weapons on a Nerf battlefield? People DIE and get HURT in war. That's the PURPOSE of it and that is the PURPOSE of a soldier. Soldiers kill and maim and a portion get killed and maimed in the process of fullfilling their PURPOSE. Are we to have bloodless wars? What planet are you living on? Our soldiers believe in that what they are doing is right and just. Stop treating them like they are buffoonish children. If they don't think what they are doing is right, then they will get out. Just that simple. If they think what they are doing is right, then why would you think they need you to be on the opposite side of what they are trying to accomplish?

It is okay to have a superior military as long as you don't go around shoving others around. A strong military is a good thing to have to use WHEN NEEDED. But it should not be used to go around acting like an "in your face" bad ass. As far as other countries having nukes. I say if we have them, then they should be able to have them. They need to be able to protect themselves just like we do. You say, "But we're good and they're bad.... so they can't have weapons.... cause.... cause... they might use them against us... and we're GREAT..." They think they are good and we are evil. So who knows? But, yes, I want it to be fair across the board. If one country has nukes, they should not tell another they can't have nukes.

And once again (im)moral relativism rears its ugly head.
Can you really hate the United States so much as to elevate rogue terrorist states such as North Korea and Iran to our own level?
All you have to do to see the insanity of that position is to turn the argument around.
What would be the result to you, were you a citizen of Iran or North Korea, if you dared to say that the United States was the moral equivalent of NK or Iran? How do you think the authorities would deal with you if it was proven that you made such a statement?

Why would you suggest a person "hate" the United States because they believed in fairness? Does loving/supporting the U.S. mean that I am supposed to take the position of agreeing the we can have weapons and others cannot?
You sound like the same person who calls those who want our troops home (safe and sound), "Bush Haters." Oh yeah, you are the same person.
Oh well. I stand by my post above.
