Hey is anyone involved in the local music scene? What do you think of the state of it in the Birmingham area?

...Zydeco and The Nick are still going strong. Other than that, I'm not certain. I know all the good concerts pass us by as no tours bother stopping here.

didn't they ban widespread panic from the amphitheater a cpl years ago? like 3 peeps died and 197 arrested over 3 day concert. so pelham told them never to come back.

I have friends who are local musicians, and like Blondie said, both of the above mentioned venues are AWESOME! Zydeco, and the Nick are supposed to be pretty good small concert clubs as well. We've got a pretty good local music scene, and we do get some major concert stops, just not as many as I'd like to see.

well i was trying to find a place to play around here. I seem to get gigs around Bham just never in it...Oh the plight of the folk singers
