lawman wrote, "Sadly dixie56, you are a 'prophet of doom' and people don't want to hear those prophet's, ..........but you're 'dead on target' so take heart.......they didn't want to 'hear' Noah warning about the impending flood either" Right on, lawman! There is so much to be concerned about -- yet people don't want to hear it. Just give them something else to eat.

I heard someone say recently that for every dollar the Mexicans will pay here, they will get back three -- medical care, food stamps, welfare, etc.
How about that Rich? Do you think that's okay?
It's not okay! America can't stand that! We will break and the people here will suffer!
Wake up!

Yeah, I know dix. Check out 'kevin' and his attempt at suppression of speech, etc. Hmmm, strange. I politely asked dixie56 to refrain from posting whole articles (the link and highlights are sufficient), so I therefore I "attempted to suppress" free speech. The only reason I made the request was because whole article posts break up the flow of conversation IMO. Strange, dixie56 did not feel it was worthy of comment and it was directed at her (him?). Plus, you pulled in the quote from another thread to make your point. If that is the best insult you can come up with against me, its pretty darn weak. Oh wait, you might call me a "shill". You like that word 'cause with the substitution of one letter you have your favorite backyard device -- a still. Maybe if you'd quit taking so many pulls from that thing you'd have something of real worth to say on occasion. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Last I looked, I wasn't a member of Congress. If I moderated this board and chose to modify or delete anyone's posts, it would be up to my discretion. Freedom of speech does not apply in these instances as this is not a government sponsored board. But, I am not a moderator and only made a request for the sake of ease of navigation, which, if carried out, would not lessen the ability to express one's views. Like the quote of your post -- how does this contribute to the topic at hand? No more than mine does now. But at least I carry on intelligent conversation from time to time. Sorry for the off-topic post, just needed to help lawman understand a little more about what free speech means. Please resume your regularly scheduled communication ;D.

kevin-
I'd think you'd understand the rules of discourse here by now.
Disagreeing with certain people here is the same as making a personal attack on them.
Asking them to prove their theories is advocating censorship.
You are supposed to stand there (virtually speaking of course) and allow them to hurl insults at you all day long- to them, that is known as "debate".
Advocating a position on anything that they do not agree with is "shilling".
Pointing out their repeated hypocrisy is "engaing in the politics of personal destruction".
Using facts that they do not agree with or sources they do not agree with when buttressing your argument is "not being credible".
Using sources that they have often used but pointing out flaws in these sources is "cherrypicking".
Like most on the Left, they believe in diversity of everything- except opinion.

Keep him/her straight, W. Ohh, these 'trolls' step outta line frequently, but you took him/her through the 'drill' supurbly! Well done! Um, you do realize that he was referring to mostly you, don't you? Perhaps not. Please clean the slobber off your keyboard and try again. Oh, and just so you know Trolls can be existing members of a community that rarely post and often contribute no useful information to the thread, but instead make argumentative posts in an attempt to discredit another person, concentrating almost exclusively on facts irrelevant to the point of the conversation, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. Sorry to say it old pal, but this rather fits you to a "T". Wish I could find a good picture of a jester troll, to incorporate both of your attributes. ;D

It's not okay! America can't stand that! We will break and the people here will suffer! Wake up! This latest bill is just a way to say "hey, we've screwed this whole border security thing up the last 10-15 years so this is the quickest way to make some people happy. Ya know, beyond this board -- and like-minded people throughout the US -- most people don't care. As long as they can watch American Idol and eat cheap lettuce, tomatoes, get their sheetrock and concrete work done cheaply, they don't care. I was in Old Navy some time back and the people in front of me were hispanic. They forgot something and the cashier tried to get their attention but failed (they didn't understand her). She then said to me "I really need to learn Spanish" to which I quickly replied "No, they need to learn English". At the rate we are going, the phone recordings will no longer be "For English press 1, para español aprieta dos". Spanish will be #1 and English will be #2...

Kevin, I did not respond because I work full time and have a family to take care of.
This bill is another sellout and also fast tracks the SPP or NAU. Our borders will never be protected because government and business have partnered and it is all about profit. Plain and simple. The people of all three Countries are being screwed. Mexico is one of the richest countries in the world, however, it is the elites that have all the money and they do not give a rats rear end about the people. It is becoming the same thing in the US, UK, etc. What is going to happen if this passes is that those that are here illegally will leave the jobs they have (ie agriculture, etc) and REALLY start competing for jobs that have been held by Americans. If this passes you ain't seen NOTHING YET!
Whatever anyone thinks out there, we are witnessing the destruction of America as we know it.
The UN and the CFR (council of foriegn relations) are NOT OUR FRIENDS! You should look into who is affilated with the CFR!
WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS............ We all have to refrain from personal attacks because it only destroys real debate and that is not beneficial in getting out the facts. While I appreciate those that came to my defense, honest debate is what is lacking and is needed. It gets people thinking and that is WHAT WE NEED! Our society seems to be discouraged from being courious and questioning anything, especially when it comes to politics. Are we supposed to just accept everything that we read?
My advice read it and than try and research it to find out the roots.

Kevin, I did not respond because I work full time and have a family to take care of. Actually, that was only in reference to a request I made of you. Lawman felt I was "attacking" or at least "scolding" you to some extent, and decided to be unjustifiably chivalrous. To clarify my intent, I just asked that you not post the text of an entire article and instead just provide a link and some highlights. To me, it breaks up the continuity of the forum structure. Lawman saw it as a "violation of free speech". He has a personal dislike of me since I exhibit knowledge and wisdom above the 3rd grade level. Plus, his medication has run out and medicaid has refused further prescriptions. I appreciate your posts and contributions to the furthering of our knowledge of present day concerns. Please accept my apology if you were offended by my request.

Kevin, in your post you are doing exactly what I am trying to stop here. I am not a moderator. I am just saying if we cannot stop the attacks (which is what the elites count on) we will never be able to stop the destruction on our Country! I want everyone to stop with the attacks on each other and deal with the issues. I realize some of the posts that I post are long but some, like myself, like to paste into word and then print to read later when they have time. Realize that a lot of us have precious little time to read on the computer. We have to read when we can (between work and taking care of family).
I want so badly to have a forum where the people of this state can come and find out what is truly happening in this country and not the spoon fed crap that the MSM (which are all owned by the elites).
Is that so much to ask?

Hehe, can't you spank your own kids?!? I don't need one, I'm getting too old for that ;D.
Yeah, I'm sorry. The Yankee in me can't resist jabbing at certain troublemakers. I've gotten better over the years with much realization and work, but old habits die hard ya know.
I understand where you come from. Like I said, it was just a request because the whole article takes up alot of space and if you don't just provide highlights, some people (me **blush **) tend to gloss over the whole post and may miss your actual contribution. Again, I appreciate your activism and concern to inform people so they can in turn make intelligent decisions.
