blondie, since you are having no luck converting the Christians on this forum, I found you a real winning bunch of people to talk to. theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.phpThese people will buy anything if you can judge by their thought processes on that forum. The Earth is flat... Now why didn't someone figure that out in the 1400 & 1500 when people were sailing AROUND the world.

And where does believing in creation exclude evolution? That is what amazes me. You have know idea what I believe, but you assume you do. I am not blind, nor am I stupid. Having a deep strong faith in God does not mean a person can't see the truth of the world around them.

All this gap theory stuff is new-age American nonsense.

No, the bible does not say the world is 6,000 years old. There is NOTHING at all in the Bible that says that the first six days were a 24 hour period. There are also many gaps in the Bible where things are not clear. I was asked to leave a church once, and not return because I questioned the wife that Cain took with him to the land of Nod.
What you don't seem to understand is that Faith in God, a higher power, a divine being, whatever you want to call it, does not mean you have to blindly follow the dogma of religion. All religions are man made. I am a Christian. I believe Christ is the son of God. Do I blindly believe what some man spoon feeds me about God? No. My faith is a personal thing. I am sorry that you can't accept that I am not up for conversion, but you are not going to shake my faith.

There are also many gaps in the Bible where things are not clear. No offense, but that's absolutely ridiculous. I know modern creationists want to make the days of creation in the Bible fit with science somehow. But I have respect for the ancient texts and would rather objectively study them than just make stuff up.

You can't have it both way, blondie, either you believe, or it is just a bunch of bunk. We were not there so we have no way of knowing what the first "six days" were like. First you get rude and hateful because I have faith and I believe in God, now you are getting rude because I don't believe what, and how, you think I should believe. Please just give up. You are not changing my mind at all. You are just making my faith stronger.

You can't have it both way, blondie, either you believe, or it is just a bunch of bunk. I believe it's mythology. Kind of like this: interoz.com/egypt/bkofdead.htmMan, it's great being an Atheist, all the evidence just falls into place.

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see...I will no longer respond to you in any thread that involves religion or faith. You are just trolling for effect.

What? The earths not flat Well, According to the "Flat Earth" folks, it's not only flat, it's surrounded by a 150 ft wall of ice (to keep us from draining off the edge, I guess) and carried on the backs of four elephants, riding on the back of a "star turtle" drifting through space....Oh, and the sun is only 38 miles wide and 3000 ft up above us.

I think you can have it both ways.
I am a Christian because the teachings of Christ make sense.
I don't believe that the Earth is 6,000 years old or that Adam lived to be 900 something, but those things are not critical to understanding Christs' message. I osmetimes wonder all this other stuff lasted this long...it seems counterproductive to bringing people to christianity....i mean, the message of Christ can stand on its own.

I am a Christian because the teachings of Christ make sense. Can you sum up those teaching? I believe the good ones were already common. "Be nice." And the crazy ones are just crazy. "Believe I'm YHWH's avatar and go to heaven. Don't and burn in hell." He also seemed to be really keen on giving away all your stuff. Give me Socrates or Confucius any day.

I think we're all familiar with Christian dogma. Could you do me a favor and sum up Jesus' teachings in a couple of sentences? I did above. But I'm just a dumb Atheist without any supernatural help so I may be wrong.

Jesus LOVES YOU and wants you with HIM in Heaven one day! Shame. If Jesus made me he created me with a mind that finds Christianity absurd. I'm no more capable in believing that Jesus created the universe than I am in believing in flying pink unicorns. What a horrible, sick system Christianity is. If true I was created to suffer eternal damnation.

There's nothing in Atheism that would punish people for not believing in something they find beyond credulity.
If the Muslims are right I'll be seeing you in hell lawman.

Well the Flat Earthers are just silly then. Just about anyone can see from direct knowledge and experience that an object 38 miles wide and 3000 feet above us would pretty well cover the entire sky.
