Of course I label people, and when I use that label, it's in situations where people can respond, like on message boards. Ok. What about this part, "and everything to do with not denigrating and objectifying people by calling them names," Was that just hollow words?

LOL.."YOUR". billt could use that on me since I am always mucking that word up. (Too make it perfectly clear, I am laughing at myself here and not trying to start trouble.)

Learn to spell, and it'll work better. Liberals wouldn't know humor if it kicked them in the nuts (if they had any).

No, the point I continue to make is that you or anyone else is welcome to challenge me, correct me, and outright revile me if I use a label you disagree with. The hosts called a person in a news story, and by extension, everyone like that person in the news story, a "wierdo." No one had an opportunity to challenge them, correct them, or anything of the sort on the air. My point is that this is an injustice, and not very good radio in any case.

I did call that individual a "weirdo." I also have phone lines where anyone can challenge me. So do not give me this crap about no one could respond.

If there is not a transgendered person in the forrest to hear another call them weird...does it make an offense? If there was a transgendered person listening on the radio, they had an opportunity to call in and cry foul and give a logical reason why they shoudn't be called weird. Plus, calling this an injustice is far fetched.

Liberals wouldn't know humor if it kicked them in the nuts (if they had any). Sure, I do. I'm laughing at you, for example. It didn't appear that you got the joke. Brandon didn't "write" that, the joke is that it is a person calling another a retard and using the word "your" instead of "you're" in the process.

Plus, calling this an injustice is far fetched. "Wierdo" is just as denigrating and emotionally charged as the "n" word. It's a fighting word.

Really? Ask a black person whether they think wierdo is equivalent to n-word.

Really? Ask a black person whether they think wierdo is equivalent to n-word. If you're going to ask, though, I'd make sure that it was a very small black person.

Really? Ask a black person whether they think wierdo is equivalent to n-word. I won't, because I will not use that word. Nor, for that matter, will I use that "f" word when talking to or of a gay individual, nor will I call a person "wierdo." It's called "respect."

How is this reality, anyone could pick up the phone. ANYONE. Send them to me/post them here and I will call and see if they would like to come on and tell me how this is a normal situation.

Is there some requirement that I have respect for weirdos? Take yourself for example... I have absolutely no respect for you whatsoever.

See the link. And, yet again, I didn't claim it was a "normal" situation for you. I said calling names is, or should be, beneath you. I'll gladly return to this point every time you post, since you conveniently ignore it each time.

tragicpizza -
So the criteria of when you would call people names/labels is whether they have the ability to defend themselves and if you respect them?
So, you have no respect for "neo-cons", Religious Right, Fundamentalists or FundieCons. Anybody else to add to the list?

Labels are part of life and the kid who gets a sex change at 12 better get use to that. You can not protect everyone from life. I wish this little weirdo the best but I imagine he is going to have a rough life. And he better be ready for more than words when first boy this "girl" fools finds out what this "weirdo" is about. Shame on his parents... weirdos.

Please, sir, tell me you aren't a member of a mainline denomination in Christianity. I don't want people to assume I share your narrowminded prejudices.

I question their values, doubt their accuracy, and resent them imposing their mores on the greater society. But by "them," I'm not referring to everyone who would consider themselves conservative or Fundamentalist. I refer to specific individuals and groupings.

I'm glad I can help you feel like a real man, Dale. You're welcome? Sorry to bust your bubble, I am. Prejudices? Pre-judging? No, that is not what is happening here. I am judging the actions of a 12 year old and his parents.

You are name-calling, and if you happen to chance across the New Testament sometime, you'll be interested to see Matthew 5:22. Hopefully, it'll be instructive.

......or read further to Matt 23:17 to see that not ALL name calling is wrong.
tragicpizza - you have painted yourself in a corner and you keep on painting. You can't condemn the hosts for name calling and justify it for yourself on the terms you have given.
