The Barbaro Fan Club forum must have been hacked or it's being spammed to death by porn bots. LOL

Why does future glue have a message board?

Well, it's not actually devoted to Barbaro. The message board actually belongs to one of your colleagues. It was started for similar reasons as this one but it degenerated into a sob story (not for Elmer's though).

Well, the god horse has had another setback and it looks to be the last nail in his coffin. It shoudn't be too much longer before he will be out of his misery. It was interesting to read all the nut cases symbolically or otherwise calling for the head of that doctor who put the last cast on.
So, the Barbaro fan club forum will post all the way up to his demise and then turn into the Barbaro memorial forum. There will be posts about barbaro's races in Mictlan.

Hmm... I didn't know something bad had happened. Well Phinehas, as you appear to be the Barbaro expert on this forum, could you give us a rundown? And maybe an address to send donations?
(it's good to see your heart has softened in regard to the struggles that this fine horse has been going through...)

Like you said, the Barbaro Fan club forum is back up, read it there. The copy and paste wizard already posted the details.
My heart was never hard towards this animal, I don't think it was right to turn him into Frankenstein and continue to keep him in pain. Hopefully, once he is dead, all the people worshiping this horse will turn their attention to the rules that prohibit artificial insemination because it will surely occur again.

Bless his heart, at least he isn't suffering any longer. At least someone realized that a life of pain was not what the beautiful animal was ment for:
”We just reached a point where it was going to be difficult for him to go on without pain,” co-owner Roy Jackson told the Associated Press. ”It was the right decision, it was the right thing to do. We said all along if there was a situation where it would become more difficult for him then it would be time.”

I am glad the right thing was finally done. Who actually was surprised? He was a notable race horse, that's it.
I wonder if they got any DNA out of him before they put him down? If the owners wanted a part of him to live on, so to speak, they could. They coudn't race the offspring of course.

Ya know, most horses get a bullet in the head for a broken leg long before all of this. The horse was lucky (if you wanna call it that). He got to hobble around another 8 or 9 months. Boo fricken hoo. Who will even care after the Kentucky Derby 07?

Did they honestly think he'd ever be able to race again?

I haven't been paying attention to this whole thing and someone mentioned there was an issue with euthanasia (are they against it or what???)
Quick note:
8 million dogs alone are euthanised each year in shelters alone, not counting vet clinics or dogs that have been euthanised for phyical or age issues.
Thos 8 million include puppies. New puppies. I go to a forum called Dog Dish that talks about dogs and frequently offers advice. However, if you dare ask "how to I go about breeding my dog" you will get the hackles of every seasoned poster/contributor.
That 8 million does not count cat or "exotic" animals (rabbits, birds, etc)
The bond between a horse and owner is so string because it is a working animal. If lizards had a use we'd see the same thing with them. When you see a working dog like a police dog or a sled dog or similar you get the same bond as a horse and human.

I don't currently own a dog I want one, but there's no way I'd contribute to the population by breeding one myself. Actually, I'm one of the people who will dive on people full claw extended if they mention they want to breed XD

Thank you!! I am against people breeding their pets also.
BTW, Once I called Burt & Kurt's show to ask people to stop breeding their dogs (and gave obvious reasons.) Several callers came in behind me and disagreed. Not one person supported what I had to say. In fact, a female vet called in and said that pregnancy of dogs is a natural state... basically saying that's what they are for. Can you believe it!!
Later, however, I asked a local vet about this issue. He said he agreed with me. Went on to tell me that one local shelter kills thousands of animals a year. That's just ONE shelter.

I swear everytime I hear someone wanting to breed or say "oh I just want my dog to experience he joy of being a mother" I want to pop them in the face. -.-;; The dog does NOT know the DIFFERENCE. Actually, dogs are a lot happier if you DONT breed them. But that's a rant for Dog Dish

It's not just a rant for Dog Dish. I think the message should be spread in every circle because so many people just don't think about it. They think nothing of breeding their pets. So if by talking about it, we cause a few to think and reconsider, a few dogs lives will be better.

hiope some jerks are happy now..
I am curious...where is PETA now...As a horse owner, it is well known that a horse does not fully mature physically until around the age of 5 years and the last part of the body to fully mature is....THE LEGS...IMHO, these fine beasts shouldn't see a racetrack until they are fully developed.

This is a beautiful animal that was totally wasted, and then forced to suffer unknown pain for another nine months. I don't care how noble the owners pretend to be, a Dreby winner's foals would sell for millions apiece.
