Bert & Kurt: Long time radio guys, a bit goofy, not too annoying, but can wear thin quickly. Hank Erwin: Waste of air-time. Listen to your CD or iPod instead. Lee Davis: Pretty smart; hate that I'll have to miss his broadcasts, unless I catch them on Replay. Matt Murphy: My commuting addiction. Even make The Child listen to him. She'd rather be listening to my CDs. ;D

I'm with you on Murphy...hopelessly addicted. Burt and Kurt got me into talk radio and I still enjoy them when I get a chance to hear them. Lee Davis...I enjoyed his show for a little while, but he wears thin quickly with me. In fact, I really cannot stand his show now days. I haven't heard Hank Erwin. I am usually in class when he comes on. I don't like many politicians anyway, so I probably wouldn't like his show.

"Hank Erwin: Waste of air-time. Listen to your CD or iPod instead."
I couldn't agree more; I have better things to do with my time and do them when HolierthanGod Hank is on the air.
"Lee Davis: Pretty smart;"
I couldn't disagree more. Lee Davis knows a lot of trivia pertaining to University of Alabama football and, to a degree, politics. He exhibits little or no ability for independent thought. Actually, he seems somewhat dumber than most rocks.

Davis is gone from 'morning slot' because he couldn't care less about what you and I (the people) think! He is a Republican 'big-mouth' and obnoxious to the listeners and short with callers that didn't fall in line with his crap!---A real sycophant phony, also!

Hey Drifter, Did Lee give you attitude when you called him? Or did he just cut you off? Though I agree with you in principle, Lee is a very intellegent individual a little high and mighty at times but on a whole he knows what he's talking about. Mind you he's not allways right, but he believes what he says and thats why so many love and respect him. Not to long ago when he took over for Russ and Dee I swore I would not listen to him but I did and there were still times I wanted to reach thru the radio and choke him I still listened. I love the station and the format. I think I have an addiction to Talk radio (do I need re-hab )

I have turned my two year old into a Murphy addict. HE walks around going "Murphytime?" until the show comes on, then he yells at the computer every time Matt gets a bad caller.

Oh, yes, how could anyone forget Russ & Dee? (I wish I could!) I'm glad they were taken off the air; their constant harping on 2-3 topics took its toll (I'm sure) on the ratings!

Burt and Kurt: Nice guys that make a funny joke now and then
Hank Erwin: Tits on a boar hog
Lee: The stupidest smart person I've ever heard behind a microphone - Republican hack
Matt: Rockstar and International Pimp

I know Lee from real life and he has ability but sometimes he doesnt seem to use it when it comes to certain issues.
his claim the last 2 days that nixon most likely fdidnt even know who Elvius was, and then yesterday saying he was sure haldeman didnt know of Elvis show almost NO THOUGHT whatsoever(that is why i chose this example).
EVERYONE that grew up in the 50's or before KNEW who Elvis was.....there were only 3 networks on TV and Elvis made the new OFTEN.
His first time on the Ed sullivan show was a national event(people wanted to know if they would show his hips or just from the waist up on TV).
Lee has intelligence, he just doesnt use it sometimes.

billt,
I thought it was strange to suggest that Nixon didn't know who Elvis was...for some reason, in defense of Lee, I want to say that I recall that he mentioned somebody involved with Nixon had stated that Nixon didn't know who Elvis was...maybe that was the angle Lee was going with, whether he believed it or not.
So it may not have been a lack of intelligence on Lee's part but him not caring about it that much and taking the angle of the story from that point of view.
If you think about it some, any other angle woudn't have been worthy to discuss. Lee would get more responses from the story that Nixon didn't know who Elvis was versus Elvis showed up to meet with the President, big deal.

The thing that bothers me about Lee Davis is that he just sounds like your average Joe Shmoe off the street talking. I think he knows more than your average Joe, but he just comes across as amatuer-ish on the radio. As opposed to someone like Matt Murphy who has the perfect booming, holier-than-thou, let's-take-it-nationwide voice for radio. He did study theater though, so that probably helped.

Bert & Kurt: Nice change of pace from the usual talk shows.
Hank Erwin: Don't even get me started.
Lee Davis: Sounds like a jock. Does he spit when he talks? Grates on my nerves.
Matt Murphy: Sean Hannity wannabe. Diction is horrible. For example, he pronounces "any" as "Annie".
Local shows are fine for talk radio, but not ALL of the time. Having 100,000 watts and not airing at least one well-known personality is borderline irresponsible.

Burt and Kurt: Good ole' farts who are good for a laugh.
Hank Erwin: Depress handle, flush, and enjoy the swirling blue water.
Lee Davis: One of the nicest people I have ever met, but a water boy and apologist for the Republican Party. He's too intelligent not to be more objective.
Matt Murphy: A great radio guy. Smart. Very entertaining, and hosts one of my favorite shows. His youth remains to be tempered by the realities of life, but then, that will be forthcoming.
Bring back Russ and Dee!

Burt and Kurt: Have gotten old QUICK
Hank Erwin: Seems like a nice guy, TERRIBLE talk show
Lee Davis: I enjoyed him, although the Alabama football talk tended to overshadow the real "Issues."
Russ and Dee should stay gone. Anybody who DARES their employer to fire them in a public forum should be fired. Russ was irresponsible saying some of the things he did, and he found out the truth of the old saying...."Be careful what you ask for...."
Matt Murphy: Great show, I have to catch it on the replay, but solid.

Burt and Kurt: they were tired and worn out back in the 1980's when they were on Magic 96. Lee Davis: seems like a genuinely nice guy, but as boring as watching paint dry. Matt Murphy: I agree: Hannity or Rush Limbaugh wanna-be, but he has toned it down somewhat in the last few months. Hank Erwin: His program is an absolute and utter waste of time.

Here's how I'd like my day to sound on my radio.
6am-8am (my morning drive) -- Russ and Dee 8am-6pm (my work day) -- Lee Davis 6-7pm (drive home) -- Matt Murphy

Ok here it goes The attack Machine? wasn't real sure about them at first, but now they are the Fav! Still waiting for them to get Sheila Smote < or how ever her name is spelled on , or Matt as a guest Burt and Curt? Love them they bring class and a old school nostalgia to the air, We need more of that! Hank Erwin? I like him also, He is a Christian he is not shy of that, being strait forward in your face scares people these days, on that it took me a while to figure out that citizen frank is a guy ;D Lee Davis? Lee is very smart, but like most smart people i know, they have no coming scents. One day Lee will step in the real world and see that the economy and pay is not as good as his books tell him,, and now Matt Murphy?

The Attack Machine- I do listen and some days are better than others. I wish that they would talk more to the callers instead of Dale letting them make a statement, dropping them, then going on a conversation to no one. It would be great to let some of the callers answer with what they think. Some of the callers make a great point and I would like to hear a little more from them. Burt and Kurt- I love them! They are a light and funny show and bring up things that no one else talks about. Hank Erwin- The guy that fills in for Hank when he is not there is worth listening too. Lee Davis- He seems like a good guy, but would like him to be a little more ?? something Matt Murphy- He is the man!!! No one can top him in my opinion. He knows how to handle the callers. He can carry a conversation with the ones worth it and he knows how to let the other's go. Dale needs to take a page out of Matt's notebook and learn a few things.

Now that I've had more time to listen to the shows and compare them, here are my impressions. Attack Machine - Beaner and Ken without the music, but still good to listen to. Burt and Kurt - I still love these guys. Hank Erwin - Forget it. Lee Davis - Would be better hosting a sports show. Matt Murphy - You can read his show notes at boortz.com

I must truly be a Outcast Cause i like Hank, I think he's had some good topics! One reason i like him is, I think no matter how far out there he gets I think he truly believes it and wont back down from his belief Or for that matter doesn't really care what others think he just moves forward! lets take Lee for example, peeps call in sometimes and want to talk about the Attack Machine! Lee will cut them off like as if he will lose his job or something and that scares the crap out of him I don't sense that in Hank, maybe I'm wrong here if so strangen me out ;D

I believe Lee is a COWARD and I know he's FEARFUL of letting ANYONE 'talk' if they are making better points about an issue that run contrary to his STUPID Republican AGENDA! You're an 'outcast' only to those corrupt MORONS that don't want their CORRUPTNESS exposed! I have liked Sen. Erwin because I LOVED the way he told the pure truth about Hurricane Katrina, etc., but I still am ' dubious of him because of his chumminess with the Governor and a couple of other things???

Yeah I'm not sure why he sticks up for Riley? I think in time to come history will show Riley was the worst governor ever to hit Alabama
I for one can say I didn't vote for him the 2nd round
