"It is virtually impossible to 'disprove' climate change because ther fact is that the climate does indeed change over great periods oftime (dramatically) and even over shorters spans (incrementally)."

And it's especially hard to prove when them dam republicans keep moving the goal posts about what climate change is...

Just feeding their "business pig" friends and lining their own pockets, while ruining the world!

Neocon!!!!

(Because we all know that all the problems of the world are because of Republicans, and their shills, anyway...)

Shill!!!!

Heh heh, Gotcha last buddy! LOL

(I wonder if anyone will jump in here and "get me last" after I go off to bed... LOL)

Good night and goodbye all!!!

Moron, you keep coming out in the 'deep' water...with no 'life-preserver!? Not wise! You are 'in' over your lil' pea-pickin' 'red-neck'...... :o ::)

I am still just laughing at you. Bless your heart. I forgive you for all of your jealous issues. You really should not try to appear better than you actually are. Your gene pool is too shallow for swimming with the rest of us.
Go bother the floor nurse. She may give you a lollie to leave her alone.
What is your diagnosis? Paranoid delusions? MPD? Delusions of Grandeur, would be my bet…

Further, you are a FOOL. And I do not use my words loosely. Never have used that word on a forum and never have used it in life. It's a strong word and have never felt a need to use it. But you deserve it. You deal in deceptive language. You twist what people say in order to build yourself up. Dixiepixie is a FOOL and serves only to soil forums.

You nailed her, killer!

and as for this jerk, dale jackson.....a liar and crumb, he has no future in talk radio. He's a bad person, and he's a total phony!

Your jealousy is so overwhelming...The pity I feel for you is deep. I hope one day you are released from Bryce and live a functional life, devoid of the internet harrassment you spew to everyone you come in contact with. Do your doctors know of your unhealthy obsession with me?

WOMI since this forum will be frozen I only think it is right for one final thread to be dedicated to your shillfulness. WOMI your opinions line up with all worthless NEOCON lap dogs probably because you are one of them. I hope this thread makes you lose valuable sleep since I know you always like to get the last word in. HA HA HA HA.

Seriously though thanks for making me look like a superior debater when arguing against your weak and UN-american ideas. I hope you retire from forums and educate yourself on what being a Christian Patriot really is and conduct yourself likewise.

You are the one running scared. You can't defend the attitude when you have no job to speak of, therefore no tax flow, why should I worry about the worthless like you? I have a family to take care of. I will vote for what is best for them..And me...Get a job, then complain about how the taxes you pay are spent.

Now here's THE LEAD 'FOOL of FORUM-DUM'......This PHONIE Scum-bag' 'WEANIE/Phiney has been in 'collusion' with the Witch and taught her most of what's she knows from his Witches brew!

Salem circa 1692 as I said. You sound like such a moron...here is a poem for you.

Giles Corey was a wizard strong, a stubborn wretch was he;
And fit was he to hang on high upon the locust tree.
So, when before the Magistrates for trial he did come,
He would no true confession make, but was completely dumb.

"Giles Corey," said the Magistrate, "What hast thou here to plead
To those who now accuse thy sould of crime and horrid deed?"

Giles Corey he said not a word, no single word spoke he.
"Giles Corey," said the Magistrate, "We'll press it out of thee."

They got them then a heavy beam, then laid it on his breast;
They loaded it with heavy stones, and hard upon him pressed.

"More weight," now said this wretched man. "More weight!" again he cried;
And he did no confession make, but wickedly he died.

Sweet as poison... You should really think before you start throwing stones..There are two quotes that apply here..One about people in glass houses, the other about he who is without sin...
When the two of you get jobs and stop living on internet forums, you can be justified in having a say in how the world revolves. Until then, your opinion means ZERO.

Hey, Stupid, I went to work and got a good job to take care of my family, not you and your poor whining ass. If you want to have a good job and benefits, get off your dead ass and get a good job. I pay taxes that go to support all of the gimmie funds you are always bitching about....What are you doing? Oh, right...Sitting at home being a "housewife" and pretending to care.

It's like this. Say, Alabama has a natural disaster. Pretend something really bad happened and we are all in the streets, our homes are destroyed, and we are hungry. Aid comes from somewhere -- food and money is dropped on some dry piece of land -- it is meant for distribution to all people. Paul Hubbard gathers his teachers and says "Go take it all, we must eat and be healthy before the others. Maybe more money will come one day. But if not, hey, at least we got ours." So the teachers run out, trample the others who might be trying to grab a loaf, and take the entire aid that was dropped. They sit in the shade and eat until they are full, then they nap, get up and eat some more. All the while, the others are looking at them... hungry and sad. The others can't understand the lack of sharing.... the selfishness.

And you are unemployed trash who thinks it is your right to dictate others lives. I work for every penny I get, and I have great benefits. I have a retirement (housewives don't get those, do they?) and my family has blue Cross insurance, that I pay for. You can call me a fool if you want, but it seems YOU are the foolish one. I am the one who chose my future wisely.

Many noble causes have died in the water because of the attitudes of people like you, Andrea. When attacked, most people tend to go on the defensive. With people like you calling them names and attacking their chosen professions, they (we) will be out in full force to make sure our interests are protected. My interest is making sure my family is provided for. I will vote YES on anything that will insure my family will be taken care of.

According to B'ham News, new governmental accounting standards force states to disclose their long-term liability for health benefits for current and future retired public employees. Alabama's is about $20 billion in coming decades.

When taxpayers know this, they will insist that the employees pay more of their health insurance. That's why the state employee union and AEA want it in the constitution that these costs will be covered. Hence, Amendment 2.

Nobody else gets this privilege. When premiums go up, employee gets the bill. But state employees feel they are forever immune to these rising costs. Not fair. Wrong.

Blue Cross even pitched in $50,000 to help pay for those TV ads that tell us we should vote yes. They like the beefy contracts and want them to continue. If state employees had to cover more of the rising health care costs, they might actually check with another provider in search of less expensive premiums.

Given time to educate the public about what is happening with these 2 amendments, a campaign to defeat this outrage would be possible. That's why it has been slipped in almost quietly. No time for opposition to tell the real story. Sneaky politicians!

Personal grudge? I would say calling government employees names just because of the job that they do is pretty petty and personal, but hey, more power to the two of you.

but if that money is "committed" to teachers, and they use it for something else, won't they then have to replace it?

the bottom line is that it looks like neither of these amendments really do anything...

amendment 2 looks like it puts some "restrictions" on legislators...and I like the word "restriction" with "legislators" regardless of the subject...

amendment 1 looks like it puts LESS restriction, and I am not fond of that idea...

bama,

These bills are tying up a huge portion of tax dollars. And although they say these bills will not cause taxes to be raised -- just wait and see. What about other needs in the state? There are other needs out here (I realize that's hard for educators and other gov. employees to see.) Once the legislators recognize the other needs -- they will see they must raise taxes to help with those needs. Or let the needs go unmet -- people going hungry and without health insurance, etc.

The feeling so far has been, "Well... as long as we take care of state employees... our positions will be safe... and that's what really matters."

Other people matter!!!!!!

Taxes will rise when our legislators realize other things must be covered financially -- and they have already committed excessive funds to teachers. When all the money has been committed here, money for other needs will have to be raised somehow -- higher taxes.

unbelievable that we cannot talk about constitutional amendments without personal attacks...that's EXACTLY what Dr. Sowell was talking about, and I even get attacked for quoting him!!!

Some members do not do forum on weekend -- they only do it when they are on the clock at work. So when they get to work Monday, and settle in with hot coffee and donuts, all ready for forum... nothing. Their week will begin terribly. As if they are lost with no directions...

For the members.... do it for the members.

No conflict. My decision to open a new board was already on its way weeks ago. I decided to go ahead and open it because I felt people should be offered an alternative to a board that depends on a person's employment with a company. No offense to Dale.

OK. But I have grown angry with the selfishness... the educators who think there are no others in the world but them... who always want more.... it's never enough.... will not be satisfied until every tax dollar is devoted to them.

.....selfish, self-centered SOB's??

seems maybe time for Dr. Thomas Sowell's quote again:

"Another sign of irresponsibility and degeneracy is the unbelievably cheap level of public discourse over political issues."

I was a lonely voice in the wilderness on the teacher raise issue. I know it is one we will regret. Add Amendment 2 to it, the people will definitely regret it in the future. Costs are going to be too great.

The fact that the Birmingham News FINALLY said something about this today and Riley wants yes, that is enough reason for me to vote no! I still see #1 as a stealth tax. Also once it is changed in the constitution and we find out later what the REAL motive was, it would be almost impossible to get it changed.

No dice, the other forum may take a while to get used to but I need to close this one down.

It may be the existence of old posts concerning the old show and company. If they deleted those posts...well, that would be alot of work :).

I like this forum better than the new one. Any way to keep this one? Or does new boss demand this one be shut down?

How about if the Other Shows category be eliminated? Like if we will not make threads about 101.1 hosts or shows.

And for those who don't see it... you're just selfish SOBs.

Great line, killer!!! You 'flat-out' nailed it! Selfish/Self-centered/Spoiled SOB's who destroyed America and caused Apathy among 'the people!'

I won't save the taxpayers any money, but will mean more industry in the state, thus bringing in tax money for the government.
